Rofuto and Kurabu to open at new Park Regis hotel

If you've driven round Five Ways recently you'll have spotted one of the buildings has undergone a transformation. Well I drive round Five Ways several times a week so I've been watching the work with interest. Naturally, I'm particularly interested in the new bar and restaurant due to open. This isn't just any old hotel restaurant- it sounds super exciting.

Rofuto is the restaurant and will have a modern Japanese menu, split into six sections- sushi and sashimi, tempura, a robata grill, signature mains and desserts. The bar, Kurabu will sell cockails and sake. I couldn't get into sake last time I tried it so I'm hoping Kurabu will have the skills to change my mind.

The hotel opens next week and Rofuto will follow on April 26th.

Foodies Festival

I had a great time at Foodies Festival last year so I was SO happy to hear it would be back. Think street food, local producers and a few big brands, outside, with plenty of bars and live music. Masterclasses and live chef demonstrations also take place across the weekend.

Foodies Festival will take place at Cannon Hill Park from 3rd-5th June. I'll be running a competition soon but if you can't wait you can get 241 tickets using the code FOODIES241 at

UK Burger Battle

It's back! After a few months break, UK Burger Battle is back in Birmingham. On 15th May, two burger teams will serve up an epic burger each and you choose your favourite. I don't know who the two teams are yet but based on previous experience, they will be pretty special.

Check out my review of the last UK Burger Battle.

And get your ticket for £20 at Design My Night.
