Wing Wednesday: The Victoria

Back in September, I went along to a menu preview at The Victoria. We had burgers, pizzas, so on. However, my favourite part of the chicken wings or 'pterodactyl wings' as the manager called them.

They say: Chicken wings 1/2kg for £6 or 1kg for £10.

I say: Giant chicken wings were fried in delicious, rosemary scented batter. The herby, batter was a wonderful surprise. These wings had plenty of tender meat and satisfying crispy skin. I've shared a kilo of these with Edd and we were thoroughly happy. Some of my favourite wings in Brum!

The wings in the photo were complimentary at a menu preview but I've since been back and paid!

I have to tell you, I thought of you last night as I went out for a meal with my old church friends and it was Wednesday too! BUT, I am an idiot because I was having steak for my main meal and I thought perhaps I shouldn't have chicken wings for starter otherwise I might be having too much meat (because I eat a mainly veggie diet, sometimes when I eat too much meat at once it gets too much for me) so I ordered the gravalax with salad.
BUT, when it arrived, it was TINY! Literally 4 shreds of gravalax and about 4 tiny salad leaves. I couldn't believe it! When the wings arrived for other people, they got a nice substantial portion of 6 wings-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! I sat there really really enviously!!!!! Always go for wings is the moral of the story!x
