The day of penguins

You may not know this about me but.... I really love penguins. I find them to be extremely charming with their little waddle and pointless wings and adorable mating rituals! So it's pretty crazy that I haven't been to see the penguins that have been at the Birmingham Sea Life Centre since Easter! I did try to go in the summer but it was crazy busy. Someone at work mentioned they had been on a Sunday and that it hadn't been too busy, so along Edd and I popped.

First we had a Sunday dinner at The Old Joint Stock, which I believe I have mentioned before. It used to be a bank and is now a theatre/pub. Look at the size of the Christmas tree! There was also a live jazz band, how lovely.

Then to the Sea Life Centre. We used my Brindley Place card which gave us 241 tickets otherwise it would be very very expensive. There's lots to see, a shark lagoon talk, rays, jellyfish, otter feeding...

Seriously, though, I was there to see penguins.

PREPARE FOR PENGUIN PHOTOS.

Penguins...! I LOVE THEM. The enclosure was quite nice, not huge, but the penguins seemed pretty chipper. There was a penguin talk going on but I couldn't really hear it unfortunately. Never mind, I'm pretty sure I know most of what the guy was saying. Penguins give each other pebbles.

After this we went along to lovely cake shop Madeleine's in the Cube. This place has perfectly fine coffee but amazing cakes. I had chocolate cake with vanilla cream cheese frosting. Yum.

Here's what I wore. It's a dress with penguins on. Told you I like penguins.

Dress: Sugarhill Boutique, Tights: H&M, Boots: River Island

I just KNEW that dress would be from Sugarhill boutique- it is SO their style item!!! I adore the dress and the photos are SOOOO SOOOo cute!!! A friend of mine (who is 70) is a huge fan of penguins too and he saved up to go to Antartica to go and see them. He's an amazing photographer so when he got back from there, he held a photographic exhibition of all his penguin photos and they were amazing! For Christmas two years ago, I bought one of his pictures for my Father-in-Law who loves them too!x
