Long ago but not so far away

It's been too long!

I'm going to throw out the old 'PGCE' excuse- 'I'm so busy! So much planning! I'm so tired!' etc etc.

I am enjoying it, and feeling particularly positive today after a successful couple of weeks at my placement school. I have a generally well-behaved year 5 class though they are rather 'fussy'- too many tears and fall-outs! Today the deputy head came to observe me and said lots of nice, helpful things and gave me a good grade, so I'm happy!

I am very tired all of the time and  am yet to really figure out my time management organisation, hence the lack of blogging. Must change this.

So today I thought I would share a few photos I have taken over the past couple of months.

During Half Term, I went to visit the Birmingham Back to Backs with my Mum. This collection of houses are the last remaining Victorian back-to-backs in Birmingham and have been done up to represent normal life from the 1870s to the 1970s. Very interesting indeed, you cannot believe the tiny spaces people lived in.

Unfortunately you cannot take photos inside but I took a few of the courtyard. There's also a really lovely old-fashioned sweet shop on the corner. I need to visit and purchase some aniseed twists etc- I always find old herbal/spicy sweets very soothing when I'm ill.

New owl cushion from BHS. Blurry phone picture!

Best porridge ever, especially with extra raspberries.

My beautiful new shiny gold shoes from ASOS

I will be back soon! I really love to blog and hate that I keep running out of time or falling asleep before I get round to it.
My placement finishes on Thursday so hopefully I will be a little more awake from now on. x
