May Challenge Day 28: Something everyone has now

Today's song: Jack Penate- Pull My Heart Away

You can find the rest of the challenge here

Something everyone has now? My answer is a DRESS!

I'm not really talking about the blogging community here, more about my friends and acquaintances.  I don't recall anyone wearing dresses when I was a teenager- the occasional denim skirt perhaps. I started taking an interest in what I wore when I was 15 or 16 but this amounted to dressing like a boy in the 70s. Flares and faded logo t-shirts! I was at university before I considered dresses as an option for day time and grew to love the freedom and comfort. I wear dresses almost all the time now though I do try to mix it up with separates occasionally. I'm even considering buying some pastel purple jeans!!

Dress: Primark

Anyway, my point is that a few years ago, people would tell me they 'couldn't' wear a dress, I suppose through some shyness or lack of confidence. And now they all own dresses. I'm glad dresses are as popular as they are because there's lots in the shops. I don't suppose dresses ever went anywhere but they certainly weren't as predominant in the late 90's and early 00's as they are now.

Another thing I could mention is bare legs- for the moment anyway.

I agree! Most women used to live in jeans - even in nightclubs it was jeans wall to wall! Now it's not at all odd for dresses to be worn all day and night too.

you're right, looking back nobody wore dresses like they do now.
Love this one on you! x

Ha that's true, I was such a tom boy when I was younger then started to wear dresses in uni, and my friends started wearing dresses/skirts more. Now it's odd if I wear jeans!

I love this dress! I am the same. I never used to wear dresses when I was a teenager. Which is quite funny because now I am the ultimate girly girl.
